The Google Cloud Scholarship is an opportunity to learn from expert instructors and work on real products that can help NGOs. You will code alongside industry professionals, on-site in a real once, but the scholarship doesn’t just teach you how to code – you will also learn how to work in a real software company.

The Google Cloud Scholarship is an intensive 3-6 month program that provides cutting-edge training and mentorship to help aspiring software engineers develop their technical and collaboration skills. Google Cloud’s curriculum is designed by experts from Google, industry specialists, and Google’s partners in Warsaw.

Through hands-on instruction, guided by industry professionals in a professional environment, students will learn Google Cloud Platform tools such as:

  • Compute Engine,
  • App Engine,
  • Google BigQuery,
  • Google APIs.

They will use Google technologies, such as load balancing, while learning how to use Google’s popular machine learning tools, e.g. TensorFlow.

Additionally, Google Cloud scholarship recipients will have the opportunity to work on projects with real NGOs and see how technology can be used for good. They will be able to understand the issues faced by NGOs and how Google solutions can be used to address them.

The mission of the undergraduate program in Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering is to provide students with the principles and techniques necessary for success

Work with Big Companies

Courses in the major introduce students to engineering principles. Students learn to apply this fundamental knowledge to conduct laboratory experiments and aerospace system design problems.

Hands on Work Experience

Courses in the major include engineering fundamentals, mathematics, and the sciences, as well as in-depth courses in aeronautics and astronautics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, fluids engineering, and heat transfer.

Work with NGOs

The major prepares students for careers in aircraft and spacecraft engineering, space exploration, air and space-based telecommunication industries, teaching, research, military service.

Course Requirements

  • Some experience with coding or computer science and a desire to develop their skills further.
  • A demonstrated passion for technology – e.g. a portfolio of relevant projects, such as coding projects, research papers, etc
  • A commitment to lifelong learning, including an understanding of the importance of continuously investing time into improving one’s professional skills through self-study and instruction from others.
  • An enthusiasm for problem-solving and a willingness to think outside of the box. Much of the challenge lies in coming up with creative solutions when faced with complex problems that may not already be solved online, in literature or other popular sources of knowledge related to coding or computer science. Some truly innovative concepts may come up during the scholarship program.

Weekly Challenges and Final Exams

Throughout the scholarship program, participants will attend weekly seminars to further develop their professional and soft skills, such as communication, project management, problem solving, and collaboration. Upon the completion of the program, each participant is expected to give a final presentation showcasing their accomplishments during the scholarship period.

Giving Back through NGOs

Additionally, all applicants must demonstrate a commitment to giving back to the tech community by participating in open source projects, attending hackathons, developing passion projects, writing blog posts on technology-related topics, or any similar activity. This is important because Google believes in being a positive force for change in the world and it wants its scholarship recipients to share this mission.
